About the battery

Battery capacity is measured in Watt-Hours.

The FLIT-16 comes with a 230 Wh battery that should have a suitable capacity to last for 20 – 30 miles for most riders on most journeys.

The battery can be locked in the bike by fixing the seat post in place using the lock on the seat post quick release.

The battery can be charged when it is inside the bike via the charging port, or outside the bike by removing it.

Modern lithium-ion batteries last over 500 discharge cycles before the capacity starts to decrease.

If the FLIT-16 is being stored outside, it is best to take the battery out of the bike and charge it inside, in a warm, dry place.

Do not charge the battery outside of the range of 0 °C ~ 45 °C. If the e-bike has been used in cold weather, leave the battery inside for at least an hour so that it can reach room temperature before charging.

During charging, the charger will show a red light. When the battery is fully charged, the charger will show a green light.

In order to get the maximum battery lifetime, charge and store the battery correctly.

When the battery is fully discharged, recharge as soon as possible.

We recommend you charge the battery at least once a month, or at the absolute minimum at least every 3 months, to keep it in good working order.

If you charge the battery whilst it is inside the FLIT-16, do not move the e-bike as this may tangle the cable.

If you want to store the battery for a long period of time without using it, we recommend that you charge the battery to ~60% This will be approximately when first light is lit, and the second light is blinking on the LED indicator (page 7 of the manual) during charging (see battery manual).

Store the battery in a temperature range of 0 °C ~ 20 °C.
