Why does my battery charge level decrease when not in use?
You many notice that the battery charge level can drop by up to 5% in the first 24hrs after a full charge when it is not in use. This is completely normal for lithium ion batteries. The reason for the discharge is mostly down to the battery management system (BMS) – it uses a small amount of power monitoring temperature, balancing cells and various other things.
The battery will go into hibernation after about 3 days if not used, which will drop the rate of discharge. In hibernation mode the battery can last about 6 months but we recommend topping up the battery every two months. To bring your battery out of hibernation mode, simply press and hold the power button on the battery itself.
