BIG NEWS: welding of the main frames has begun!
Remember the shiny CNC parts that we showed in our last update? These parts are now being welded together, so your FLIT-16s are really starting to take shape.
We’ve got some footage straight from the factory for you…
FOUNDERS’ BATCH HANDLEBAR ETCHING
Those of you who ordered your FLIT-16 through Kickstarter will know that we are laser etching the handlebars of each FLIT-16 from our first manufacturing batch – uniquely identifying each bike as being one of the first.
We’ve just completed the etching of every handlebar, here’s a preview for you!

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?
When we’ve finished welding, we’re then ready for heat treatment and alignment. If you’re interested in learning a bit more about the manufacturing processes involved, check out the video in our previous update here, which explains how the rear swing arm (the part being welded in the photos above) is made.
After heat treatment and alignment, the frames are ready for painting! Thanks so much to all of you for finalising your paint colours – these have now been sent to the factory.
Dave, our Technical Lead, is off to visit the factory in a few weeks time so that he can help out with the final assembly of your FLIT-16s – exciting times! He’ll be gathering lots of footage during his trip too, so that you can see your FLIT-16s take shape.
